St. Louis Senior Counsel Jerry M. Hunter was quoted April 21 by Law360 concerning the Democratic vacancies at the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Agency veteran and Communications Workers of America Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo is still waiting for her confirmation hearing more than two months after Biden nominated her to be the NLRB’s next general counsel. Hunter noted he expects a disgruntled Republican will place a "hold" on Abruzzo's nomination. Hunter recalled waiting months for his confirmation, during which time acting General Counsel Joseph DeSio refrained from making major decisions. "After I got confirmed and got to the board in November 1989, all those files were stacked up in the GC's office waiting on me," Hunter said. "Peter Ohr is not following, from what I see, DeSio's previous practice of not deciding high-profile cases." Hunter was general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board under former President George H.W. Bush.
