BCLP Senior Counsel Jerry Hunter was quoted May 26 by Law360 regarding the recent nomination of labor lawyer Gwynne Wilcox to be a member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Wilcox would fill the long-vacant fifth seat on the panel and would be the first Black woman to sit on the board. Hunter, a former NLRB general counsel, said Wilcox is a strong pick whose path to Senate confirmation should be a smooth one. Biden’s Inauguration Day firing of former General Counsel Peter Robb may lose her Republican votes, but her fitness for the job is clear, he said. “I’ve known her since the time I was GC,” said Hunter, who was in the role from 1989 to 1993. “She’s a very worthy opponent, a very competent lawyer … and an excellent strategist on the side of unions.”
