BCLP Partner Jerry Hunter has been selected to receive the 2020 ICON Award in St. Louis, sponsored by Missouri Lawyers Media. The ICON Awards are presented to distinguished attorneys for their notable and sustained success and leadership both within and beyond the field of law.

The 2020 honorees are recognized for their exemplary careers and longstanding commitment to the Missouri legal community. Whether active or retired, honorees must hold or have held a senior position with significant decision-making authority for their firm or organization.

Hunter was general counsel of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) in Washington, D.C., from 1989 until 1993. From 1986 to 1989, he was director of the Missouri Department of Labor and Industrial Relations, where he was responsible for the department which enforced Missouri’s labor and employment laws and regulations.

At BCLP, Hunter’s practice involves representing management in all phases of labor and employment law, including preventive labor relations and supervisory training, labor arbitrations, handling charges filed with the NLRB, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, U.S. Department of Labor, state and local civil rights agencies and cases filed in federal and state courts.

Hunter will be presented with the award at the third annual ICON Awards luncheon, scheduled for Aug. 12 at the Missouri Athletic Club.
