Dear Colleagues,

While yesterday’s unanimous verdict convicting Derek Chauvin of the murder of George Floyd helps build confidence in the justice system and provides some sense of closure in a case which has caused so much anguish and anger worldwide, we know that this is not the end of the story. New acts of violence and injustice affecting Black communities continue and the trial has reignited deep pain for many of our colleagues.

As we said almost a year ago to our Black and African American colleagues:  We see you. We hear you. We grieve with you and we stand with you. Our message today is the same and be assured that we remain committed to addressing the imbalance of justice and equity and advancing towards a truly inclusive culture at BCLP through ongoing impactful actions and meaningful, sometimes uncomfortable, conversations.
