London Partner Carol Osborne was quoted March 25 by WWD (Women's Wear Daily) on the most pressing concerns of fashion and retail clients as they navigate closures and layoffs under COVID-19. Osborne, co-leader of the firm’s EMEA M&A and Corporate Finance Practice and the global sector leader for the Retail and Consumer Products Industry, said retail clients are raising numerous concerns about operational issues, as well as specifics about real estate and employment law. “We’re seeing all of our specialist practices providing robust, every-hour kind of advice,” she told the publication. “And that’s across the globe, because many retailers are global, so questions like, ‘How do we treat employees in France, the U.K., the U.S., in China?’ and ‘What are the policies in terms of layoffs, or redundancies?’ or whatever the strategy is with respect to employment.”
