BCLP’s Richard Young was quoted in Reuters’ newsletter The Daily Docket regarding his high-profile work in anti-doping law. Young, credited as the lead drafter of the World Anti-Doping Code, answered questions about how anti-doping rules have changed over the years, how he began his career in anti-doping matters, as well as commentary on nuanced topics such as athletes accidentally ingesting substances and whether marijuana legalization would impact anti-doping rules in the future.  In reference to how anti-doping authorities view marijuana legalization, Young explained, “…there’s simply the politics. Even if the federal government would [legalize], that would be an outlier with the rest of the world. A lot of governments would still say you would violate the spirit of the sport [by using it.]"
