London Senior Associate Katherine Pope was quoted March 16 by Personnel Today, republished by HR Today, concerning the extension of the off-payroll working rules (known as IR35) into the private sector. “All this comes at a time when we are looking for an economic recovery,” Pope said. “Many employers are already suffering from the effects of the lockdown restrictions, and the rules are likely to make the use of contractors as a flexible and low risk labour resource more expensive.”
