Sarah Hartley, a partner in BCLP's Business & Commercial Disputes practice, recently spoke with The Christian Science Monitor about the U.S. Supreme Court upholding two state laws that ban transgender girls and women from scholastic sports.

In the article, Sarah discusses clarity schools and universities will now have when applying Title IX protections, noting that the downside is that it will likely lead to the exclusion of transgender students from sports teams that aren’t selective at lower levels.

"The vast majority of kids who play in middle school don’t go on to play in high school,” Sarah told The Christian Science Monitor.

Sarah is co-chair of BCLP’s Higher Education Team, a member of the Sports & Entertainment Group, and leads BCLP’s workplace investigations team. She is experienced in addressing and investigating allegations of sexual misconduct, discrimination, and other workplace issues, as well investigating and adjudicating allegations under Title IX.
