Atlanta office Managing Partner Eric Schroeder was quoted March 19 by the Daily Report in a survey of law firms’ return-to-the-office plans. Law firm leaders are figuring out what the workplace will look like post-pandemic, as vaccines become more widely available. Firms are analyzing their works’ preferences and who needs to be back in the office, with an eye toward possible cost savings in the long-run from smaller real estate leases. “Working remotely is here to stay,” he told the publication. “I don’t think we’ll ever be back to a 100% return to the office. The question is, what percentage will we be back to a year from now?” Schroeder said he envisions the office will become more of a destination and a meeting place, with people on the same client teams, for instance, coming in specifically to brainstorm. He also predicted some office sharing or hoteling.
