London Managing Partner Segun Osuntokun spoke to The Daily Telegraph, first published (both in print and online) on Jan. 11 (paywalled), on the Black Lives Matter movement – how it has impacted the city of London and its law firms. The article outlines BCLP’s annual London event, Race for Change, to which the firm invites aspiring Black lawyers to meet employees, get lessons on skills such a negotiation and for tips on job applications. Also detailed is Segun’s open letter, written for The Lawyer magazine, he is quoted “being in a painfully small minority in the City carries with it a duty to step forward as a vocal and visible role model.” The piece highlights Segun’s recent accolade of being named Black British Business Person of the Year at the Black British Business Awards in October 2020.
