UK Partner-in-Charge Segun Osuntokun has been named to the UK’s black Powerlist 2022, which this year was topped by Microsoft’s Chief Digital Officer Jacky Wright, and footballer and children’s campaigner Marcus Rashford.
The annual list recognizes and celebrates Britain’s 100 most influential individuals of African, African American and African Caribbean heritage, and since 2007 has grown to become the definitive and most prestigious recognition of black achievement within the UK. Segun was included in the “Politics, Law and Religion” category featured alongside Shadow Lord Chancellor of the UK, David Lammy, Kwasi Kwarteng, Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industry Strategy, and President of the Law Society of England and Wales, I. Stephanie Boyce.
Segun’s unwavering passion for race equality has been a mainstay throughout his long and distinguished legal career, for instance co-pioneering BCLP’s Race for Change, an initiative designed to increase Black representation in the legal profession. Alongside leading the UK Firm, he leads the Firm’s civil fraud litigation practice and its Africa Group.
