UK Partner-in-Charge Named ‘Inspirational Leader of the Year’ at UK Ethnicity Awards 2021

UK Partner-in-Charge Segun Osuntokun has been named “Inspirational Leader of the Year” at the UK Ethnicity Awards 2021.

These prestigious awards are an annual celebration recognizing UK champions from Black, Asian and ethnic minority backgrounds who are making change and progressing equality.

BCLP was the only law firm recognized at the event, at which the organizers highlighted Segun’s longstanding commitment to diversity, his co-leadership of BCLP’s global Inclusion & Diversity effort, and the impact of his advocacy for race equity across the UK legal industry.

As co-chair of BCLP’s Global Inclusion & Diversity Action Board, Segun has championed the introduction of firmwide Aspirational Diversity Goals, among the most stretching in the legal industry; supported the introduction of an I&D Cultural Foundation, against which the performance of all BCLP partners are assessed; and played a highly influential role in the introduction of the UK Race Fairness Commitment, which has been signed by over 50 leading law firms in the UK.
