Biography

Charlie is an associate in the Firm’s Private Client group, where she assists clients with estate planning, wealth preservation, charitable giving, business succession, corporate formation and governance, and other related transactional matters.

She regularly drafts estate planning documents such as revocable and irrevocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, nonjudicial settlement agreements and decantings.  She also regularly drafts corporate governance and transactional documents such as LLC operating agreements, promissory notes and security agreements, assignments of interest, merger agreements, termination agreements, and fee agreements.  In addition, she assists clients with non-profit formation and bylaws, as well as issues related to gift tax, estate tax, GST tax, and cross-border taxation.

Prior to law school, Charlie worked for the Business, Finance and Tax group in the New York office of a large law firm, where she drafted pitches, RFPs, and other proposals that helped the group secure over a million dollars in new business. She also analyzed market trends to target areas for growth and conducted client feedback interviews to anticipate and address client concerns.  Her background in the business side of law informs her big-picture approach to solving client problems big and small.

Charlie received her undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Chicago.  She received her J.D. from Saint Louis University, where she served as President of the Asian American Law Students Association and President of the Students for Mental Health and Wellness.  During law school, she worked at MICA Project, an immigration non-profit, where she drafted cancellation of removal briefs on behalf of clients seeking asylum.
