Biography

Christopher Young is a transactional associate in the Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group. His practice encompasses a broad range of employee benefits matters. He brings a dynamic and diverse background to his legal practice, complementing his technical expertise with strong creative and interpersonal skills.

Christopher provides advice on ERISA compliance, helping plan sponsors and fiduciaries navigate the complex regulatory landscape governing employee benefit plans. He also drafts required plan documentation and amendments, ensuring that retirement plans, welfare benefit plans, and other arrangements are properly structured and kept current with evolving legal requirements. Christopher conducts due diligence on complex transactional matters, examining employee benefit plans and executive compensation arrangements in the context of mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. Additionally, Christopher provides guidance on correcting defects in tax-qualified plans through the IRS Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System and other available correction programs to preserve the tax-favored status of their plans.

Christopher started his academic career with B.F.A. in Theatre Performance from the University of Mississippi. Throughout law school at Loyola University Chicago, Christopher distinguished himself as a Thomas More Scholar, served as an academic tutor, and contributed to the Loyola University Chicago Law Journal as the Executive Editor of Publication and board member, demonstrating a deep commitment to leadership and scholarship. He also gained hands-on advocacy experience at Loyola's Civitas Child Law Clinic, supporting attorneys serving as Guardian Ad Litem and Child Representative for the State of Illinois.

Today, Christopher draws on this varied foundation to deliver thoughtful, client-focused representation across a wide spectrum of employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
