Biography
Liz’s practice focuses on complex civil litigation. She combines courtroom experience, subject-matter depth, and strategic insight to deliver favorable results for clients.
Liz joined the firm after five years on active duty in the United States Air Force. At Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, she balanced dual roles in trial advocacy and in-house legal issues. She served as a federal prosecutor for drug and sex crimes under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, including for joint Air Force Office of Special Investigations-Federal Bureau of Investigations cases. She was also a trusted command advisor focusing on internal investigations and civil law compliance, including operational, environmental, and civilian employment issues. Following her first assignment, Liz was competitively selected to serve as the Air Force Special Victims’ Counsel at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. There, she leveraged her litigation and interpersonal skills to successfully advocate for the rights and dignity of over ninety survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence at all stages of military investigations and court proceedings.
Prior to her military career, Liz served as a law clerk to the Honorable Laurie J. Michelson, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan in Detroit. Liz assisted Judge Michelson in drafting written opinions resolving case-dispositive motions throughout the full spectrum of federal civil and criminal litigation.
Now in private practice, Liz leverages her courtroom insight and systems-level perspective to help clients navigate high-stakes disputes. She has experience in corporate governance and shareholder litigation, environmental liability exposure pursuant to tort law and the Model Toxics Control Act, and a broad range of municipal law issues including challenges to local regulations and defense of individual tort claims. Aside from these areas, Liz is a versatile advocate whose multidisciplinary background is well-suited to a variety of sensitive investigative and litigation focused issues.
