Biography

Hannah is an associate in BCLP's Planning & Zoning team. Hannah specialises in all aspects of planning law for clients in the public and private sector. She has acted for developers, landowners and purchasers, and lenders, and has experience across a broad range of sectors including infrastructure, retail, residential (including affordable housing and purpose-built student accommodation) and industrial.

Hannah's experience includes:

  • acting for DCO promoters of major infrastructure projects;
  • undertaking planning due diligence and providing planning support to real estate transactions;
  • negotiating planning agreements such as section 278, section 106 and section 104 agreements;
  • advising clients in relation to environmental regulatory and compliance issues as well providing environmental support to real estate and corporate transactions; and 
  • assisting with various compulsory purchase litigation matters.

Experience

  • Advising an affordable housing fund in relation to multiple acquisitions of affordable housing units as part of wider, complex, mixed-use development sites. Involvement was undertaking due diligence, drafting planning reports and material risk lists as well as negotiating indemnity letters or provisions where necessary.
  • Advising landlords of large commercial developments in relation to planning elements of lettings including drafting relevant provisions in transaction agreements and giving specialist advice on the use classes of developments.
  • Advising a provider of student accommodation in relation to the negotiation and completion of utilities agreements.
  • Advising developers in relation the preparation and negotiation of various statutory agreements such as section 278 and section 106 agreements.
  • Advising multiple clients in relation to litigation arising from the compulsory purchase of land.
