Biography
Janisha Pealer is an associate on the Commercial Real Estate team. Janisha joined the firm with a strong background in legal advocacy for non-profit organizations. She previously served as a legal advocate for the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois and Court Appointed Special Advocates of Southwestern Illinois, where she supported children and families affected by domestic violence.
Janisha earned her J.D. from St. Louis University School of Law, graduating cum laude. As a clinical intern with the school’s Entrepreneurship and Community Development Clinic, she represented community-based non-profits, small businesses, and neighborhood associations in transactional matters including entity formation, tax-exempt status, governance, and real estate issues. During her final semester, Janisha interned with the Neighborhood Advocacy program at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, assisting with litigation to help St. Louis residents and organizations combat vacancy and property abandonment. Just before graduation, she was named the 2025 Mel Friedman Fellow in Real Estate for outstanding research in real estate law and honored as the 2025 Student Bar Association Student of the Year.
