Biography
Logan Rutherford is a partner in the firm's Appellate and Business & Commercial Disputes Practice Groups.
Logan has litigated some of the firm’s most high-profile matters in both civil and criminal contexts from initial strategy sessions through final appeal, including matters addressing constitutional issues, issues of statutory and regulatory interpretation, jurisdictional issues, class-certification issues, and efforts to obtain and defeat discretionary appellate review in the Supreme Court of the United States and various state courts.
Logan has also devoted significant time to pro bono matters. Most notably, in 2021, Logan was a critical member of a team that helped secure the release of BCLP’s client Kevin Strickland, who had spent over four decades in prison for a crime he did not commit.
Before joining the firm, Logan clerked for the Honorable Mary Murguia of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in Phoenix, Arizona. Logan attended the University of Kansas School of Law as a Rice Scholar, where he was ranked first in his class all six semesters, and he received the William L. Burdick Prize and the C.C.
