Biography

Neema Sofaer is a Senior Associate in the Tax team, advising on complex UK and international tax matters across M&A, private equity, finance, funds and asset management.

Her practice spans the full lifecycle of investment and financing transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, cross-border financings, fund formations, secondary transactions, continuation vehicles, stake investments and carried interest arrangements. She also advises on contentious tax matters, with experience representing clients in HMRC investigations and disputes, including withholding tax challenges.

Before entering private practice, Neema was an academic at Harvard University and the Dickson Poon School of Law of King’s College London. She is a Kennedy Memorial Scholar and earned her triple First from Cambridge and her PhD from MIT. She is recognised by Legal 500 as both a Key Lawyer and a Name to Watch in Tax.
