Biography

Sharon S. Mequet is a seasoned litigator with extensive experience successfully representing clients in complex civil disputes in state and federal courts as well as in arbitration proceedings. Her practice spans employment law, breach of contract, fraud, and business tort matters, where she brings a disciplined approach to case management and strategy.

Sharon’s background includes serving as both outside and in-house counsel, including at one of the nation’s largest insurance companies. This dual perspective equips her with a deep understanding of client priorities, risk management, and the business implications of litigation decisions. She provides practical guidance that balances legal strategy with cost efficiency, ensuring each case is positioned to achieve the best possible outcome.

Sharon represents private companies and non-profit organizations in the defense of employment litigation matters, including discrimination, retaliation, wrongful termination, and harassment claims. She also represents employers in state and federal administrative proceedings, including before the California Civil Rights Department (CRD), the California Labor Commission, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Sharon manages a demanding caseload, and her ability to handle high-volume, high-stakes matters efficiently has earned her the trust of clients who repeatedly request her representation.

Sharon earned her J.D. from the University of California College of Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings) where she was a member and Note Editor for the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and served as an extern to the Hon. Arthur L. Alarcόn, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego.
