Biography

TJ Briggs is a member of the the Business & Commercial Disputes Practice Group. He joined the firm after spending two summers as a summer associate in the firm’s Kansas City office. His practice focuses on complex commercial litigation involving a variety of subject areas, including business litigation, civil disputes, employment matters, and consumer finance litigation.

TJ works with a diverse array of financial institutions including national banks, mortgage lenders and servicers, and automobile finance companies. He understands that financial institutions are faced with unique challenges due to high levels of scrutiny and ever-changing regulations. TJ has experience litigating matters involving compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, unfair and deceptive acts and practices claims, force-placed insurance, and fund transfer disputes caused by cybersecurity breaches.

As a former representative for a comprehensive law database, TJ developed sharpened legal research skills that ensure he will deliver clients efficient and reliable information. He takes pride on being responsive, critical and hardworking. TJ is willing to put in the time to help client achieve their desired results.

TJ is an active member of the firm’s LGBTQ+ Affinity Group. He attended the University of Kansas School of Law. Among other activities in law school, TJ served as the managing editor for the Kansas Law Review and represented the University of Kansas Moot Court Council as a quarterfinalist at the National Criminal Procedure Moot Court Competition.
