St. Louis Partner Christopher Schmidt, Los Angeles Partner Douglas Thompson and St. Louis Associate Jonathan Potts authored an article published April 2 in Law360 outlining a recent lawsuit (Rutledge v. Do LaB Inc.) filed in Los Angeles Supreme Court concerning a music festival’s refund and exchange policy and the resulting class action litigation arising out of the coronavirus. “Companies can prepare themselves by reviewing their terms of service and refund exchange policies through the lens of the current limited mobility environment, and by assessing how best to satisfy their customers and keep the business afloat,” they wrote. The article addresses the direction the plaintiff’s bar may pursue in consumer fraud class actions.
