BCLP advises Jeremy King Restaurants on revival of Simpson’s in the Strand
Mar 06, 2026BCLP has advised Jeremy King Restaurants on the latest addition to its growing portfolio, supporting the revival of the iconic Simpson’s in the Strand.
First opened in 1828 as a coffee house and chess club, Simpson’s went on to become one of the first UK restaurants to earn a Michelin star. Its distinctive “big-theatre brasserie” style made it a favourite of notable figures including Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill and Audrey Hepburn.
Renowned for creating many of London’s leading restaurants — including Arlington and The Park — Jeremy King has reimagined this landmark destination adjacent to The Savoy. The project includes the restoration of its historic interiors and the revitalisation of its two signature dining spaces, the Grand Divan and Romano’s, along with two bars and a private ballroom. This next chapter restores Simpson’s to its position as one of the capital’s most storied dining institutions ahead of its bicentenary.
Laura Wild commented:
“We are delighted to be advising Jeremy King Restaurants on the reopening of this iconic London institution. It reflects not only the calibre of our client base but also our continued strength in the UK hospitality market, acting for some of its most active and innovative operators.”
