BCLP’s Financial Institutions Sector hosted its first-ever global Financial Institutions Pro Bono Day (FIPBD) with a series of events across the US and the UK. FIPBD is an annual industry-wide initiative that mobilizes legal professionals from leading financial institutions and law firms to provide pro bono services.

On April 30, BCLP hosted the University of Missouri School of Law Veterans Clinic (Mizzou Law Veterans Clinic). Together, BCLP and the Veterans Clinic provided a CLE training session and pro bono opportunities focused on assisting U.S. military veterans. The celebrations included in-person events in Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, New York, and St. Louis, and virtual attendees across the country, with attendance from clients including Wells Fargo and Citigroup.

“For the past five years, Wells Fargo has been proud to partner with BCLP on Financial Institutions Pro Bono Day and to see the meaningful impact this collaboration has for individuals and communities in need. We are excited to continue this partnership again this year in support of this important work.” – Ashlin Mosby, Co-Chair of Wells Fargo Legal Department’s Pro Bono Program.

“Our Financial Institutions Sector is devoted to collaborating with our FI clients across geographies to support individuals and nonprofits who rely on access to high‑quality legal assistance.  We would not be as successful in our Pro Bono efforts without the strong commitment and support from our clients.  Special thanks to our dedicated attorneys and to the Pro Bono Institute for their tireless efforts to support our communities.” – Paul Donohue, Partner and US Financial Institutions Sector Leader.

In BCLP’s London office, FIPBD marked the conclusion of the firm’s collaborative partnership with BNP Paribas and Aspiring Solicitors. Through Aspiring Solicitors, BCLP and BNP Paribas worked together to provide students from under-represented backgrounds with tailored guidance, practical insights, and targeted skills development to support their progression into the legal profession. As a global firm, BCLP’s commitment to pro bono work remains a defining part of the firm’s mission.
