BCLP Strengthens Transactional Capabilities with Strategic Capital Markets and Sustainability Partner Hire
Mar 02, 2026International law firm BCLP announced today the addition of Partner Abbey Raish to the firm’s Corporate Transactions Practice, where she will focus on capital markets, securities and sustainability matters.
Abbey joins BCLP from Kirkland & Ellis LLP and brings more than a decade of experience advising on complex transactional matters, including initial public offerings, debt and equity offerings, leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, SPAC transactions and cross-border deals. She also counsels boards and management on corporate governance, disclosure obligations, regulatory compliance and stock exchange requirements.
She has represented Fortune 500 companies across a variety of industries and some of the world’s most sophisticated private equity firms, investment banks and financial institutions in both capital markets and sustainability matters.
“Abbey brings exactly the kind of technical excellence, deep experience and client‑focused approach that enhances our brand and strengthens our ability to serve major corporate and private equity clients across industries. Her background in both capital markets and sustainability is rare in the market and directly aligns with our growth strategy,” said Todd Kaye, Global Practice Group Leader – Corporate Transactions.
Abbey’s addition is a key component of the firm’s renewed investment in building its corporate transactions team and expanding its capital markets and securities bench.
“Abbey is entrepreneurial, collaborative and deeply respected by clients,” said Joel Lander, Regional Leader – Corporate & Finance Transactions. “Her arrival gives immediate momentum to the expansion of our corporate transactions team, including our capital markets and securities practice, and her sustainability experience opens an important new dimension for clients navigating emerging regulatory and ESG‑related expectations.”
Abbey played a central role in building Kirkland's standalone sustainability group.
“I’m thrilled to join BCLP and contribute to a platform that values collaboration, innovation and strategic growth,” Abbey said. “I look forward to helping expand the firm’s capital markets and sustainability capabilities while working closely with colleagues across practice groups and jurisdictions to deliver exceptional results for clients.”
Abbey began her career as a corporate associate at Latham & Watkins before joining Kirkland & Ellis as a partner in 2020. She earned her BA from the University of Pennsylvania and her JD from Northwestern University School of Law.
Abbey is the latest in a series of targeted lateral partner additions across the firm, as BCLP continues to invest in high‑caliber talent aligned with its global growth strategy. In 2025, BCLP added 25 lateral partners globally across all three of its departments, and Abbey is the fourth lateral partner to join the firm in the U.S. this year.
