Erin Brooks discusses evolving PFAS policy with Chemical & Engineering News
Aug 07, 2026Erin Brooks, a partner in BCLP's Energy, Environment and Infrastructure practice, recently spoke with Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN) about the challenge regulators are facing nationwide about PFAS policy.
In the article, Erin discusses regulators addressing PFAS concerns using a risk-based framework that protects public health while preserving access to agricultural tools, with policy decisions guided by actual exposure and risk data rather than broad assumptions.
"For growers, manufacturers, and distributors, predictability and decisions rooted in science remain essential," Erin told C&EN. "Increased disclosure and continued evaluation may help ensure future policy decisions are informed by actual exposure and risk data rather than broad assumptions about an entire class of compounds."
