Tyler Mark discusses SEC reporting overhaul with Private Funds CFO
Aug 28, 2026Tyler Mark, a partner in BCLP's Corporate Transactions practice and Office Managing Partner - Boulder, recently spoke with Private Funds CFO about the Securities and Exchange Commission's proposal to let public companies report financial results twice a year instead of quarterly.
In the article, Tyler says that he expects market forces to preserve some quarterly information. For example, industries with consistent results from period to period may face less resistance, whereas those with much more variable results, such as retailers due to lumpier performance periods, may feel pressure from the market to continue to provide complete quarterly disclosures.
"My instinct is that, over the long term, companies that report only semiannually and then provide unexpected results to the market are going to be punished," Tyler told Private Funds CFO.
