Biography
Dr. Dietrich F. R. Stiller is a Partner in our Finance team in Frankfurt. He advises lenders, borrowers, sponsors, investors, corporates, banks and project companies on sophisticated domestic and cross-border financing transactions. His practice encompasses corporate finance, project finance, export finance, PPP and privatization projects, BOT structures, sales finance and the refinancing of distressed enterprises.
He is particularly recognized for his extensive experience in international investments and political risk mitigation, advising clients on Federal Investment Guarantees, export credit agency-backed financings, multilateral institution-supported transactions, damage claims and related indemnification procedures, as well as international arbitration.
Dr. Stiller has significant sector expertise in renewable and conventional power, oil and gas, transportation infrastructure, telecommunications, healthcare and industrial projects. He regularly advises on complex cross-border transactions involving governmental and multilateral support structures and related regulatory issues, including credit risk mitigation frameworks.
He speaks German, English, Bahasa Indonesia and Korean.

Experience
- Advised DZ Bank AG in relation to the financing of the export of construction machinery to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a BOPET project in India, the first “Shopping Line” ECA covered German export transaction to India, changes to a wind park project in Türkiye, on railway projects in Türkiye and Azerbaijan and other transactions.
- Advising BayernLB on the financing of a large number of wind park projects and of industrial projects in Ghana, Türkiye and Uzbekistan.
- Advised BayernLB on export finance transactions for three industrial projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
