Biography
Lerika is a partner in BCLP’s Finance Transactions group, bringing over 18 years of experience to the team. Lerika advises financial institutions, corporates, and sponsors on a wide range of banking and financing matters, including general corporate finance, leveraged and acquisition finance, structured receivables, asset-based lending, carbon finance, litigation funding, and debt capital markets. Her expertise also encompasses distressed debt and restructuring.
Lerika regularly leads on cross-border deals involving multiple jurisdictions including the U.S, Europe and Africa. Her notable experience includes advising on high-profile transactions such as the British Steel collapse and the funding for what is believed to be the first carbon credit project of its type in South Africa.
Lerika is qualified as a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales and an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa (Gauteng Provincial Division) (non-practising roll).
