Michaela is a German qualified lawyer in the Real Estate team. She advises banks, asset managers, special servicers and funds on all real property related aspects of law, including but not limited to

  • real estate investment transactions by way of share deal or asset deal (e.g. conduct of due diligence and preparation of due diligence reports),
  • property developments,
  • drafting and negotiating lease agreements both for landlords and tenants and
  • in rem real property related rights.

Furthermore, she supports clients with respect to the development of strategies for avoiding legal disputes. An additional focus of her work concerns public law aspects of real estate.

Michaela studied law at the Goethe University in Frankfurt and the University of Cape Town in the course of a Masters of Law (LL.M.) degree. Before joining the firm, she worked in the real estate department of an international law firm in Frankfurt and London during her legal traineeship.


Representative Experience

CBRE Global Investors – Advised on the acquisition and the acquisition financing of a logistics park in Trebur by way of an asset deal from Deutsche Logistik Holding GmbH, which is part of the Zech Group.

Aedifica – Advised on the acquisition of a portfolio with four nursing homes in Saxony and on the letting to the future operator. Furthermore, advised the client on the acquisition of seven nursing homes in in Berlin, Ueckermünde, Plön and Wankendorf including the conclusion of new lease agreements with the respective home operators for all seven properties.

Select Investments – Advised on the acquisition and acquisition financing of the hotel project "niu Air" in Frankfurt from GBI AG.

AmRest Holdings SE – Advised on its acquisition of the exclusive master franchise rights for the Pizza Hut Dine In, Delivery and Express concepts in Germany. Pursuant to the signed transaction documents, AmRest also acquired two equity restaurants from the YUM group and assumed 67 franchise agreements with third-party franchisees.

Avignon Capital – Advised on the acquisition and the acquisition financing of two hotel properties operated by Meininger for EUR 48,5m. The hotels are located in Berlin near central station and in Frankfurt in the district Gateway Garden, close to the airport.
