Biography
Zach is an experienced lawyer focused on complex commercial and technology transactions, general business and corporate contracts, intellectual property (IP) agreements, and complex chemical and energy-related projects. He served as in-house counsel for several US and Middle Eastern companies who received comprehensive, business-minded solutions related to the scalability, evaluation, protection, acquisition, and commercialization of technology. Zach regularly manages and advises on a wide range of global transactions, including development agreements, joint ventures, supply agreements, services agreements, manufacturing agreements, IP and technology transfers, patent and technology licenses, and other commercial contracts. Zach also counsels clients on IP portfolio development and growth, due diligence in connection with technology acquisitions and investments, the license and transfer of technology, as well as advice surrounding IP disputes. Zach’s clients come from diverse industries, including energy, chemical, material science, oil and gas, clean energy, manufacturing, sports, agriculture, and technology sectors.
Previously, Zach was senior in-house counsel based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), an affiliate of Saudi Aramco. While at SABIC, Zach managed a wide range of commercial matters related to its petrochemical facilities and global technology and innovation groups for chemical, agri-nutrients and metal businesses in the US, Europe, Middle East, China and India. Prior to SABIC, Zach was an attorney at Corning Incorporated where he managed patent estates and negotiated commercial and technology agreements relating to specialty glass and ceramic materials for display screen and advanced optical applications. Before his legal career, Zach was a chemical engineer designing industrial biochemical and biofuel processes.

- Represented an American multinational oil and gas company on the development and negotiation of a joint development agreement related to its investment in renewable biochemicals for sustainable jet fuel.
- Represented a Middle Eastern development company for the world’s largest building with respect to the development, protection and licensing of an immersive display technology experience.
- Represented an American specialty-aggregate business with respect to protection of its processing methods and the negotiation of a supply and profit share agreement for a futuristic and sustainable city in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.
- Represented a Saudi Arabian industrial technology company with respect to its joint venture and technology licensing efforts for a recycling supercenter of spent catalysts in Jubail, Saudi Arabia.
- Represented the largest generator of natural gas to electricity in the US with respect to its evaluation, negotiation and licensing of energy storage and carbon capture technology from various licensors.
- Represented an American specialty-glass manufacturer with respect to technology development and acquisition efforts in the display and window glass market.
- Represented an American energy company with respect to its evaluation of an investment target’s green hydrogen and carbon black technology portfolios.
