Biography
Zehra is an Associate in the Corporate and Finance Transactions Department in BCLP’s London office. She works across a range of sponsor and lender products both in the leveraged and trade finance sectors. She has experience of working on high-value transactions across multiple jurisdictions with responsibilities at all levels including review and drafting of documentation, negotiation, client liaison, and coordination with foreign counsel.
Prior to joining BCLP, Zehra was a lawyer on the leveraged finance team at a global law firm. She has also worked on numerous pro bono projects prior to joining BCLP, including primary school literacy support, adult career re-integration mentoring and assisting in processing applications for the International Refugee Assistance Project to aid Afghan refugees in relocation to the United States.

Experience
- Worked on a USD1.5 billion restructuring plan involving an injection of USD300 million of new money via a bespoke arrangement combining a borrowing base facility, a margin line facility to support commodity hedging and a trade instruments facility, all with a single master facility arrangement.
- Reviewed an English law governed amendment and restatement agreement in relation to a senior facilities agreement and an English law governed PIK facility agreement.
- Performed due diligence on a large volume of contracts pursuant to the offshore transfer of loans following the sale of regional banks in Africa in numerous countries.
- Assisted on numerous refinancings both in leveraged and trade finance.
