BCLP advises Riverside on the acquisition of Medical Group and its partnership with Selenium Medical

BCLP has advised global investment firm Riverside on the acquisition of Medical Group, a French CDMO serving the medical device industry. In parallel with the transaction, Medical Group and Selenium Medical, a French CDMO with complementary capabilities, entered into a strategic partnership aimed at expanding their manufacturing offering and value-added services.

Medical Group, founded in Saint-Priest in 1989, and Selenium Medical, founded in La Rochelle in 2009, are two French contract development and manufacturing organizations (CDMOs) serving the medical device sector. Together, they offer a broad range of outsourced manufacturing services, including surface treatment, sterile assembly and packaging, cleanroom plastic injection molding, as well as laboratory testing and consulting services, primarily for the orthopedic and dental markets.

Riverside will support both companies in their international growth, continued investment in  research and development, and the implementation of a targeted buy-and-build strategy within the fragmented European MedTech CDMO market.
