Biography

Karin Heydari is Counsel in our Corporate M&A team in Frankfurt. She advises domestic and international clients on all aspects of corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, and restructurings. Her practice focuses on the legal structuring and execution of complex transactions, including acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic reorganizations such as mergers and spin-offs. Karin has particular experience advising clients from the energy, industrial, financial services, and consumer goods sectors. She studied law at the University of Konstanz and completed part of her legal traineeship at a consulting firm in Cape Town.

Experience

Prior to joining BCLP, Karin advised on a broad range of transactions, including:

  • Advising a Danish renewable energy developer on the sale of solar parks with a total capacity of 70 MW
  • Advising on the restructuring of a DAX 30 corporation, the subsequent spin-off of a business unit, and the IPO of the spun-off entity
  • Advising a Dutch food group on the divestiture of several business units and the formation of a joint venture
  • Advising a financial services provider on the sale of its payment services business to a Swiss company
  • Advising a U.S. corporation on the sale of its industrial businesses in Germany, Hungary, China, India, Poland, and Italy to a German private equity investor
  • Advising a U.S. industrial group on the acquisition of a German-Czech manufacturer of electric machinery and drives
  • Advising a U.S. IT service provider on the sale of part of its operations in Germany, Austria, and Hungary to a Swiss company
