Biography
Lauren is a member of the firm’s Class Actions, Litigation & Dispute Resolution, and Mass Torts & Products Liability practice groups. She focuses her practice on complex product liability, mass tort, commercial litigation, and appellate matters. She has experience representing businesses and other large entities in high-stakes mass tort and collegiate sports litigation.
Lauren has significant experience acting as legal issues and appellate preservation counsel in high-stakes litigation during the pretrial, trial, and post-trial phases of litigation. In that role, Lauren focuses on complex briefing and issue development, including handling expert motions, motions for summary judgment, post-trial motions, jury instructions, verdict forms, and briefing related to significant evidentiary issues.
Lauren also has an active pro bono practice. In particular, she has helped incarcerated transgender individuals throughout the State of Missouri legally change their names to align with their gender identity. She has also represented survivors of domestic violence in contested hearings to obtain full orders of protection against their abusers in St. Louis County Circuit Court.
Prior to joining BCLP, Lauren earned her J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia Law School, where she was the Editor-in-Chief of the Missouri Law Review and graduated as a member of the Order of the Coif. She then served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Philip M. Hess of the Missouri Eastern District Court of Appeals.

Experience
- Defended large agricultural company in cases alleging that a popular herbicide caused cancer in multiple trials in Missouri resulting in defense verdicts.
- Briefed and argued appeal in the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District on behalf of a manufacturer defending against product liability and negligence claims.
- Briefed appeal in the California Court of Appeals, Second Appellate District, on behalf of the National Collegiate Athletic Association defending against a wrongful death claim premised on the theory that football causes long-term brain disease.
- Regularly defends rental car and agricultural companies in wrongful death and negligence claims.
