BCLP has advised German investment company AEW on the refinancing of the New Eastside office project in Munich by UniCredit Bank. BCLP provided comprehensive support to the borrower, AEW, in negotiating and finalizing the financing.

Completed in 2021, the building combines the character of historic industrial architecture with approximately 247,569 sq ft of modern, flexible office space. Generous ceiling heights, landscaped courtyards, and a sustainable building design create an attractive work environment for innovative companies. With its LEED Gold certification and high energy efficiency, New Eastside meets key requirements for future-oriented office properties and underscores the trend toward sustainable financing of high-quality commercial real estate in established German markets.

Frank Schwem, Partner, Real Estate said: “New Eastside is an excellent example of how sustainable and future-proof office properties are shaping the Munich market. We were delighted to advise AEW on this refinancing.”

The BCLP team was led by Partner Frank Schwem and included Counsel Tony Sparing and Senior Associate Katerina Diamantopoulou (all Real Estate Finance).

On the part of AEW, Timo Wagner and Maximilian Möller were responsible for the financing.
