Brittainy is an associate in the firm’s Energy, Environment and Infrastructure Practice Group. She advises clients across a broad range of environmental, health, and safety matters, helping companies navigate complex regulatory requirements, enforcement actions, litigation, and transactional issues. Her practice includes representing clients in federal and state environmental enforcement matters, defending against agency investigations and enforcement proceedings, and other regulatory resolutions. Brittainy frequently works on matters involving the Environmental Protection Agency, including enforcement proceedings and regulatory compliance issues. She also advises clients on matters involving the Department of Energy, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and is well versed in the regulations and guidance issued by these agencies.

In addition, Brittainy has experience in environmental litigation, including disputes involving alleged contamination, cost recovery, and toxic tort claims. She represents clients facing environmental challenges and helps develop practical strategies to address regulatory, litigation, and business objectives.

Brittainy also advises clients on environmental aspects of corporate and project-related transactions, including environmental due diligence, risk allocation, and compliance considerations. She regularly assists clients with assessing and managing environmental liabilities and compliance risks across a variety of industries.

Prior to law school, Brittainy served as an operations research analyst with the U.S. Air Force, where she helped develop models to calculate the lifecycle costs of Air Force weapons systems, analyzed operational capabilities, and assessed recruitment and retention needs. This analytical and data-driven background provides a unique perspective to her legal practice and helps her develop practical, business-oriented solutions for clients facing complex environmental and regulatory challenges.

Brittainy earned her J.D. from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis and her Master of Engineering in Operations Research from The University of Texas.
